This project includes study of various components including vacuum pump, solenoid, vacuum cylinder and clutch assembly. torque transmitted by the clutch would be same while the operation of disengagement of the clutch is easy. vacuum pump is used to create the vacuum in the cylinder. solenoid actuates the position of valve to engage and disengage the clutch assembly. the study includes pressure required to disengage the clutch, timing of solenoid valve and position of piston in vacuum cylinder. through this study, the operation of clutch is easy and driver will have to apply minimum force to disengage the clutch. the prototype shows the operation of clutch.
