To Find Solutions To Frequently Occurring Errors In Stakeout (survey)
Project Description :

Introduction survey is very vast field in civil engineering. survey has its own importance. survey is necessary before starting any civil engineering project. survey is the art of determining the relative position of point on above or beneath the surface of the earth. the relative position is determined by measuring horizontal distance, vertical distance [elevation], horizontal angles, and vertical angles accurately using various surveying instruments. after taking the measurement in the field, computations are done and the plans and maps are prepared on the office. these plans and maps are used for planning of engineering works, marking of boundaries, computation of areas and volume etc. survey is done by following instrument. chain tape compass dumpy level automatic level theodolite total station gps, etc. now a day the total station is mostly used in surveying. by total station all type of survey can be done. the accuracy of measurement by total station is very high. among all of the functions of total station one important function is “stakeout”. stakeout is to set planned points on the ground. while doing stakeout the points on the ground the error occurs. it is like the points which we planned in linear position aren’t set in linear position. it comes 2-5 cm around where we want to set. project identification: we have studied basic of total station in 4th semester of diploma engineering as a part of subject “surveying-ii”. we visited surveyors for get more information about total station and its functions. we asked them about set points on the ground. they informed us about the function stakeout. they also gave information about problem occurs in staking out the points on the ground. project definition: stakeout may be defined as the process of staking the designed points on the ground. the designed points may be of the corner points of plot area, points of the centerline of the road, points of centerline of sewage line, points of position of main holes, points of the centerline of the water supply line, points of centerline of the canal, corner points of boundary wall of residential or industrial area, etc.
