As an idp (industry defined problem) the automatic voltage regulator using scrs as switches, will be beneficial to the industry. this automatic voltage regulator is as a new product for this industry. for a generator, when it is loaded, the output voltage becomes less than the voltage when running on no load. due to this the load gets a low voltage rather than its rated value. the automatic voltage regulator (avr) will regulate the output voltage to the pre-defined value. these voltage regulators use scrs as switches and controlling the firing angle of gate to the scrs we can control the field current and hence output voltage. the industry presently having the solution of voltage regulation is to use transformers but the voltage regulation using transformers is very sluggish and with slow response. when a customer wants avr as a solution the industry has to purchase the avr from market, which is very costly for the industry as well as for the customer due to monopoly of avr producers. by producing avrs by the industry itself the cost is reduced which is good for both the industry as well as for the customer.
