The indian railways offers porter facilities for travellers at its stations by appointing porters. however, in the current scenario, the porter system in india is unorganised in regards to availability and standard rates. although rates are fixed by the government, it is hardly adhered to and passengers face a lot of problems negotiating the rates with the porters at the time of transport. there is no transparency in the rate charged by them and their operating system and as a result, passengers face a plethora of problems while availing these services. this project aims to study the current porter system of indian railways in the context of their operational system and mainly the rates that are charged to the customer. to study the problems of the passengers while availing the porter services at the stations and offer a quick and convenient service as well as a transparent rate system. the proposed solution will address problems from both perspectives - the porters as well as the passengers for maximum success and acceptance of the solution.
