The innovation is about using a best multiple jet nozzle configuration and optimum momentum flux to reap best mixing in the near field. the study consisted of various nozzle configurations and various momentum flux distribution on the jet flow field. equivalent area method has been proposed for calculating half velocity widths. the results report that the near field of multiple jets shows non-linear for various mean flow and turbulent flow quantities. multiple jets show better performance in the near field based on entrainment, secondary flows and area averaged turbulent kinetic energy. the shape parameter confirms the evolution of multiple jets in to a single round jet. optimum momentum flux distribution in multi-jet injector of a combustor will reap better mixing leading to better efficiency and lesser environmental pollution.
