This project deals with analysing the under carriage landing gear design used of private jet. landing gear plays a pivotal role in landing the aircraft safely. if the structure collapses on landing or any snag happens, it leads to fatal damage to the structure in-turn a big threat to passengers of the aircraft. landing and take-off from the surface of the ground is of paramount importance for any aircraft. this is facilitated by the landing gear mechanism. no aircraft can be complete without a landing gear system. aircrafts require landing gear for taxiing, take-off and landing operation. the design of the landing gear is one of the most fundamental aspects of aircraft design. the design and integration process encompasses numerous engineering disciplines such as structure weights, runway design and economics and has become extremely sophisticated in the last few decades. hence nose landing gear is considered in the present study. in this project the total load considered for the continuous loading on the landing gear is 14000kg donier 328 jet. the landing gear design is simulated and analyzed for the safe landing case with different impact loads. the material consider for the landing gear is titanium and even the project deals with the type of analysis to be carried out on a tyre for the optimum material to be chosen. since the project is a research oriented project, we are going to design the product and test on fem package whether the landing gear is capable of taking the loads of the entire structure. different types of alternate source of safe landing, in-case of landing gear snag are also studied in the project. the future of this project is to design a landing gear which is safe for the private jet aircrafts to prevent them from impact damage due to crash. cad tools: catia v5. cae tools: ansys wb (static structural module).

Static analysis of the assembly and tire of the landing gear has been carried out. In the future, dynamic analysis of the landing gear can be done.
In the present work, simulation of the drop test has been conducted by restricting it to only certain parameters using ANSYS software. The work can be extended by preparing a prototype of landing gear and drop test can be conducted practically and analyse the same.
