The b.i.s. has recently revised the new is 800-2007. this is based on limit state method. this new code include variety in element like tension member, compression member, flexural member connection, combined connection, combined axial and bending design of members. as per the new code there is various good text book is available in market. b.i.s. has yet not published any design aids based on new is 800-2007. for saving the time in various design of structural steel section, one need to their own computer programme or design aids/spreadsheet which is based on is 800-2007. in this project we are try to find out the design aids/spread sheet for tension member which will help to the structural design engineer to save their time in design. in this project we include the following content, chapter 1: introduction to tension member chapter 2: analysis of tension members chapter 3: design of tension members chapter 4: verification of spread sheet chapter 5: features & limitations chapter 6: design aids for tension angle chapter 7: problem solution chapter 8: references
