A present innovation provides a fuel blend of a petroleum based hydrocarbon and a solid non-petroleum hydrocarbon material, that is capable of reducing the consumption of petroleum based hydrocarbon fuel while maintaining the desired performance characteristics of the petroleum based hydrocarbon fuel. the fuel blend may further include, if desired, other renewable fuels such as bio-disels, bio-oils, anhydrous alcohol or mixture thereof. the solid non-petroleum hydrocarbon material that can be mixed with the petroleum based hydrcarbon to form a fuel blend is obtained by renewable source and can include camphor, naphthalene, adamatane, terpenes, terpenoids and mixtures.
