Compact Dust Free Duster Using Mechanical Elements
Project Description :

the blackboards are one of the integral part of the education system . cleaning the blackboards in a safe manner is a big concern .cleaning it using conventional dusters causes lot of problems. while rubbing, it spreads lot of dusts into the air thus making it contaminated. especially students in the first row and the person who rubs gets affected by this. continuous exposure may lead to respiratory disease. after rubbing, the dust from the duster is tapped onto the wall thus making an ugly picture. various innovations were developed to make the duster dusts free which were both costly and inefficient. to overcome these problems, we have designed a compact dust free duster using mechanical components alone. our model consists of just two rollers to which cotton is fixed, two gears and a fiber material enclosed with foam which cleans the dust. each roller is capable of moving in one direction only and both the rollers move in opposite direction to each other. the reverse direction of each roller is stopped by gear and flap arrangement. thus when one roller rolls, the motion of the other roller is stopped and vice-versa. while rubbing, during clockwise stroke one roller rolls and the other remains stationary and during anti-clockwise stroke the other roller rolls .the roller which is stationary cleans the dust from the board and the roller which rolls gets cleaned by a blade of fiber material. to make the wear and tear minimum foam material is enclosed over it .the dust particles gets settled in the collector which is at the bottom which can be removed and cleaned. thus efficient, eco-friendly and safe cleaning is achieved in an inexpensive manner.
