The world of technology is always striving to unveil the latest inventions that transform human lives. one of these inventions is vending machine. a vending machine is a machine used to dispense a product to a consumer after a certain amount of money has been put into the machine. this machine is used to dispense items such as snacks, beverages, lottery tickets, consumer products to customers automatically, after the customer inserts currency into the vending machine. this machine is an apparatus for managing a product and currency automatically in a vending machine. this method and apparatus is disclosed for implementing dynamic price adjustments at various times including after stocking, after a sale of a product and at periodic intervals. the method generally includes a quantity of a product, accessing price management data associated with the product. with time vending machines have gone through significant changes and innovations. many machines are evolving to accept credit cards. vending machines have seen a trend to integrate more recent technology and innovations such as interactive touch display, video analytics to recognize gender and age group, cloud manageability for sales, inventory, and refill etc. which makes it a smart vending machine. the machine usually works, when some money is put in a slot. then, a button needs to be pushed, or a lever pulled. if there is enough money in the machine, the selected item will be dropped to a tray, where it can be taken out by the person making the purchase. these machines have since been used to serve a wide clientele with a variety of products handling from green grocery to processed products. a typical example is a snack vending machine that can be used for buying and selling of different kinds of snacks. the whole process is automated such that one can be able to use it when the transition is done in the correct way according to how the machine is programmed. a wide range of products can be sold using the machines. in our project, we have aimed to implement the indian currency as the input to vending machine to purchase the item. indian minted coins have very low value compared with the price value of the item sold in the market. moreover, precise change is not possible to provide as it reduces reliability in the machine. hence to counter act on these problems we have reached out to develop a vending machine which takes minimal time and provides change to the customer. this can modernize the traditional way of selling food packets in the streets. project exploits various concepts of the different domains focusing on the integration of various engineering fields. the dispensing mechanism for the change and product are based on the pulleys and conveying concepts. moreover, the stock storage for product, coins and currency stack also utilize various aspects of the mechanical engineering. rotations of motors for controlling dispense of various products and programming them is based on the raspberry pi micro-controller. currency recognition is based on image processing using raspberry pi micro-controller and the camera module to obtain image of the captured currency and processing it through a set of program. this application also feature, unlike just recognizing the currency, checking of currency inserted is fake.
