Drilling machine is a single purpose machine for the production of drill in printed circuit board (pcb). even smaller pcbs have 50 to 100 drill points, it becomes tedious task. this system has some disadvantages like cracking of pcb, drill point shifting due to human error. drill shift is responsible for cracking of the pcb which make entire pcb off no use, which results in wastage of time and money. this project aims a portable pcb drilling machine which is capable of drilling a circuit board layout based on input from a computer aided design (cad). the system with a matlab base user interface on the pc, and microcontroller board do the atomization task. the system will become computerized numerical control (cnc) which has motor mechanism, drilling section and controller based programmable units.
