Although water covers 70% of our planet, freshwater we drink, is incredibly rare. only 3% of the world’s water is fresh water available for our use. as a result of increasing population and lack of fresh water sources, some more people worldwide lack access to water. many of the water systems that keep ecosystems thriving and feed a growing human population have become stressed or becoming too polluted to use. also altering climatic patterns around the world causes shortages and droughts in some areas and floods in others. at the current consumption rate, soon two-thirds of the world’s population may face water shortages. people excessively depend on bottled water as fresh water source because of their desire for a healthy, convenient product and concerns about the taste and quality of tap water. growth in bottled water industry has been accompanied by an increase in concerns about the environmental impact of bottled water. this results in need for alternative sources for fresh water that may be eco friendly. atmospheric water generator (awg) may be a solution to this problem. here we are going to design atmospheric water generator using peltier effect. the device uses the principle of latent heat to convert water vapour molecules into water droplets. this project consists of a thermoelectric peltier (tec) couple, which is used to create the environment of water condensing temperature or dew point, indeed conventional compressor and evaporator system could also be used to condense water by simply exchanging the latent heat of coolant inside the evaporator. the condensed water will be collected to use for drinking purpose and various other uses. atmospheric water generator is a device that can convert atmospheric moisture directly into usable and even drinkable water. it has a great application standing on such age of technology where we all are running behind renewable sources.
