Sway: The Rhythm Within
Project Description :

Dance steps are choreographed on rhythm pattern in a song. a music track usually has a constant speed and a particular beat pattern throughout it. and for dance these beat patterns are converted into counts and accordingly steps are set. thus, it is very important to understand these counts for any choreography. therefore, following solution will help deaf dancers learn, teach, practice and perform independently. 'blee’ essentially has two main parts in its system. 1. wearable band 2. smart-phone application the app on smart-phone will filter the base track from a song and convert the beats into vibration patterns. these patterns will be sent to the bands which will be worn by dancers. the wireless communication will happen through wifi which allows one device to communicate with several others simultaneously. thus, these specially abled artists will feel the music through their sense of touch. they will understand the speed, rhythm and beat pattern of a song without anyone else’s help. they will not have to look at anything/anyone for support. features like step change indication, intensity control also enable these dancers to remember choreography more easily.
