Development Bamboo-epoxy Nanocomposites For Manufacturing Of Helmets And Other Structural Applications
Project Description :

In the field of technical utilization of natural fibers, bamboo reinforced composites are one of the most important area of research. bamboo is a highly renewable, cheap and fast-grown natural resource. based on its ultra-structure and anatomical properties bamboo establishes itself as a tough engineering material with superior physical and mechanical properties as compared to most wood species and other known natural fibers like flax, sisal, banana, alfa, coir and henequen, jute etc. cost effective modified bamboo fiber and epoxy resin incorporated with nanoclay will be used to prepare the hybrid composite laminates employed for structural applications. a critical overview of the simultaneous effect of nanoclay filler and chemical treatment on the various aspects of bamboo fiber reinforced epoxy (bfre) composite will be rationalized. an analysis of diverse relations among mechanical properties (tensile, flexural and impact), thermal properties and moisture absorption properties, as well as methods of preparation and product qualities of bfre nanocomposites be demonstrated. the main thrust of current research work is to obtain relatively.
