In telecommunication, white spaces are unused bands of frequency. every channel is assigned rights to broadcast over certain frequency bands. many tv channels do not broadcast the whole day and hence their bandwidth and time is available. the present innovation is a field-programmable gate array (fpga) ic based hardware transceiver, which uses such white spaces for satellite based communication during emergencies like natural disasters when the terrestrial communication may fail.
