Panaji: Two doctorate students from National Institute of Technology (NIT), Goa, have recieved national recognition for developing an antenna which can enable automated payment at toll booths in the country. Deven Patanvariya and Kalyan Sundar Kolahave been awarded the Gandhian Young Technological Innovation (GYTI) appreciation award 2019. The award is an initiative under SRISTI to promote youth-driven tech innovations. For the award, the participants have to identify any problem in the country and they have to find a tech-based innovation to resolve help address the issue.
Patanvariya and Kola said they wanted to find a solution that could enable automatic payment at toll booths on highways in India like developed countries.
